The First Descendant is a great game that has quickly grown a passionate following in just over a month. TFD fans frequently share a lot good ideas for how the game can be improved, and Nexon has listened to and implemented fixes and changes based on feedback they have received. Many ideas shared by the community are worthy of discussion, and right now The First Descendant fans are split over a loot sharing proposal that is similar to Warframe.

Nexon has confirmed that the release date for Season 1 is August 29th. The developer has teased the abilities for Hailey, and the trailer confirmed we are getting Ultimate Freyna. TFD will also be at Gamescom 2024 as part of Microsoft’s showcase on August 23rd where it will appear alongside other exciting games still set to come out this year such as Metaphor ReFantazio.

We’re extremely excited for Season 1, and the game does have a lot of potential for the future well beyond the remainder of 2024. The First Descendant is already in excellent shape, yet there are ways it can be improved. However, the idea of loot sharing has split the community.

On The First Descendant subreddit, OP Unusual-Surprise9992 shared a post titled, “LET US ALL SHARE THE LOOT“. Their post argues, “We’d all enjoy the grind more if they [Nexon] let us pick our amorphous material pattern before we went into the mission ‘Like Warframe’ and at the end when we’ve killed the boss we can pick from what we got and our other teammates got”.

The idea behind loot sharing is that the “grind would be cut down by damn near a half at least”. The user also asks the community to upvote the post to spread the message to Nexon.

As of writing, the post has 855 upvotes with nearly 350 replies. Many of the replies agree with the OP’s idea, and would love to see it implemented by Nexon. One reply says, “This would also promote group play,” and another reply says, “This is absolutely needed for the amount of rng you have to deal with opening the Amorphous Materials”.

There are also other comments referring to Warframe such as, “That’s the one thing Warframe actually does better imo. Feels bad to farm together with a friend and only one of us gets the item we were looking for”.

While there are many who agree with the OP’s idea, there are also replies that suggest it wouldn’t work. One opposing argument says, “There is not enough content in the game to support this… [It] would make the grind faster but that’s basically the only content in the game. Warframe has a ton of stuff to both farm and do, so if people speed through getting a few frames or weapons, it’s no big deal because there is still so much left”.

Another reply in opposition says, “Warframe has an actual economy where part of the endgame is accruing wealth in preparation of future releases. This makes over-farming lucrative and rewarding (meaning, people won’t stop farming just because their builds are complete). In this game, once you complete your builds, you are done – you close this game and play something else. There’s no PvP or Raids like Destiny, or economic progression like Warframe. Nothing”.

Whether you agree with the idea of loot sharing or not, it’s not going to be implemented anytime soon as the matter hasn’t been addressed or commented on by Nexon. Maybe some tweaks will be made in the future, but nothing is happening come Season 1.
